Volunteers serve up meals during the 42nd annual free community Thanksgiving dinner Thursday at Green Street United Methodist Church in Augusta. Preparation for the meal started the day before when volunteers set up tables, decorated and peeled 60 pounds of potatoes to start the mashed potatoes. The meal included turkey, mashed potatoes, squash, peas, dressing, rolls and a variety of pies for dessert. There were also community dinners held by Le Club Calumet in Augusta, the Winthrop Rotary Club held one at the St. Francis Xavier Church in WInthrop and The Augusta Valley Scottish Rite Masons held one at the The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kennebec Valley.
