Carol and Stephen Giuffrida exit the barn at Bailey's Orchard in Whitefield on Monday after paying for the bag of apples they picked. The self pick farm is open for visitors, owner Rod Bailey said, by observing all COVID-19 restrictions, including social distancing and the wearing masks. An exterior scale will greet pickers outside the barn who plan to visit any day through October to have their fruit weighed.

Kinli Strout, 3, leads her father, Kenny, right, and mother, Kayla, left, and friends Brianna Thibodeau and Jared Cleaves through the gates of the Windsor fairgrounds Monday in her electric car. The Windsor Fair was canceled along with most other fairs in Maine this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. The empty fairgrounds was a good place to explore as a potential venue for the 2021 marriage of Cleaves and Thibodeau, the adults said. The youngest Strout burned up the unoccupied fairway and stalls with her toy VW bus as the adults trailed behind.
