McGee Construction is installing pipelines for Summit Natural Gas and workers with Summit said they were pressure testing the pipeline to the school this week and hope to have it connected by the beginning of the school year. Students in Regional School Unit 2 grades K-9 start school Wednesday, Aug. 27, and students in grades 10-12 start the following day.

    Police and firefighters converge Tuesday on an overturned dump truck on U.S. Route 202 in Winthrop. The operator pulled over, according to police, to yield to an ambulance when he lost control. The driver suffered bumps and bruises, state police said, but did not wish to be transported to a hospital. Traffic was reduced to one lane on the road as crews prepared to right the truck.
