History of technology at a camp in Maine
In 1969, my father befriended a man who owned a couple of cabins in Penobscot County that we rent every year. No running water or electricity. Propane for the fridge, lights and stove. Perfect for getting away from the bustling life that is Sidney.

Why are farmers regulated but not oil companies?
I'm still confused. Our government can tell our farmers who are struggling to make a living that they can charge only so much for a gallon of milk and it can tell the post office that it can't raise the price of a stamp and also can't cut any deliveries on Saturdays to try to make ends meet.

There was a great deal of negative sentiment about the presidential election. Regardless of whom the winner was to be, many aspects of the campaign and the antics used by both parties left Americans with a bad taste in our mouths.

Petraeus not in same league with other generals
Recently, a national newspaper printed two photographs, side by side. One was of Gen. David Petraeus and the other of Gen. Dwight Eisenhower. Petraeus' jacket had medals and patches that went almost to his waist. Eisenhower's jacket had none, except what looks like an identification.
