WATERVILLE — First-year forward Sara Lux scored with 12.3 seconds left in the third overtime to lead the eighth-ranked Colby College women’s lacross team past No. 12 Middlebury 11-10 on Saturday afternoon.
Lux added three assists for th Mules (7-1).
Middlebury, which dropped to 6-1, had leads of 3-1 and 6-3.
Katherine Eddy scored a pair of goals for Colby as well.
Green Mountain 12, Thomas 10: Green Mountain College w rallied from a 7-3 deficit to sink Thomas in a North Atlantic Conference game Saturday afternoon.
Amanda Posey scored four goals and Amanda Malkin added three to lead Green Mountain.
Kiley Jolicoeur scored three goals to pace Thomas.
Softball
BU 3, Maine 2: Meghan McLain had two hits and Ashley Kelley pitched five strong innings in relief, but it wasn’t enough for the Black Bears in an America East game in Boston.
Megan Volpano drove in two runs and April Setterlund had an RBI double for the Terriers (18-8, 4-0).
Holli Floetker pitched a complete game to earn the victory. She struck out five and allowed seven hits.
Maine dropped to 12-20 overall, 3-1 in conference play.
Baseball
Trinity 19, Colby 8: Richard Newton hit a home run and Mike Mastrocola had three hits, but the Mules (6-8) came up short in a NESCAC game in Hartford.
The Bantams (10-5) put the game away with a seven-run second inning.
Men’s lacrosse
Middlebury 11, Colby 6: David Hild scored three goals and Ryan Deane had 17 saves to lead Middlebury in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game in Waterville.
John Jennings had two goals and Ian Deveau added another to pace the Mules.
