PORTLAND — Portland Pirates defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnani has been named the winner of the Eddie Shore Award as the American Hockey League’s outstanding defenseman.

A fourth-year pro, Gragnani, who is currently playing the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres, set Portland franchise records for assists and points in a season.
