BANGOR — The Western Maine Community Action in East Wilton will receive a $175,105 grant to help the Maine’s Community Action Agencies and the Keeping Seniors at Home partnership network.

The funding will provide housing rehabilitation, energy conservation, education, and support services for the elderly.

Two other Maine organizations also received funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The Maine Development Foundation in Augusta was selected to receive a $175,105 grant to invest in the Maine Downtown Center program, building the capacity of non-profit organizations and low-income communities in rural Maine.

The Eastern Maine Development Corporation in Bangor will receive a $500,000 loan and a $105,000 the Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program grant to assist in Hancock, Knox, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Waldo and Washington counties. The project is expected to save 90 jobs and create 40.
