ORONO — Wick Johnson, owner of Kennebec Technologies, recently attended a White House Rural Forum at the Buchanan Alumni House at the University of Maine.

The event drew more than 30 business leaders and small business assistance providers from across the state. The focus was to explore ways the Small Business Administration can help improve small business conditions and help create jobs.

Kennebec Technologies is a full-service high-precision machine products manufacturer specializing in complex, high-value-added parts and assemblies, according to the company’s website. In 2002, Johnson received the prestigious SBA Small Business Person of the Year for Maine. Kennebec Technologies has also been a recipient of an SBA loan.
