AUGUSTA — The Kennebec Valley Humane Society will host free animal wellness workshops led by John Flowers, a local veterinarian and owner of At Home Veterinary Care in West Gardiner.

The first workshop, on Oct. 25, will focus on cat health, and the second workshop — Nov. 1 — will focus on dog health. Both begin at 6:30 p.m.

Workshops will address illness and disease trends and common questions and concerns pet owners have. Topics will include vaccinations, pet foods, dental care, flea and tick control, selecting a pet, and other animal health topics.
