STAFF REPORT

The Lawrence football team is preparing to play in its first Class A state championship game since 2007.

The Bulldogs (11-0) will play defending Class A state champ Cheverus (11-0) at 11:06 a.m. Saturday at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland.

On Thursday, we caught up with captains Shaun Carroll, Jr., and Josh Perry. We asked them about their role models, favorite pre-game meal and what football memories stand out. Here’s what they had to say …

Q: What is your favorite football memory?

SC: I think it was last week when we won (PTC A championship). We had a good rally after the game. It was fun.

JP: The season as a whole. This group put in a lot of work, really hard in the offseason.

Q: What is your favorite pre-game meal?

SC: I have to go with chicken alfredo. I love that. We have it every Thursday night. It’s great.

JP: Spaghetti. My step-mom’s spaghetti. She’s really good at making it.

Q: Who is your favorite football player?

SC: Chris Johnson. He’s the best.

JP: Nick Mangold. He’s a great center.

Q: What is your favorite movie?

SC: The classic, “Remember the Titans.”

JP: “Friday Night Lights.” And the TV show is really good.

Q: Who has been the most influential person in your football career?

SC: I’d have to go with my uncle and my father. My uncle was on the ’83 state championship team. My dad has always been with me my whole life.

SC: I’d have to go with my uncle. He’s always been there for me.

JP: My brother. He’s been there for me all the time no matter what I’m going through.

Q: What are your other hobbies outside of football?

SC: I play basketball, tennis. I just like hanging out with my friends.

JP: I like to work out, be active.

Q: What are your plans for next year?

SC: I’m going to be at a good, hopefully, Division I college playing football.

JP: Going to a college. Not sure about college football yet, but it’s on my mind.
