WATERVILLE — Colby College senior Ben Foreman continued to fill up the nets as he scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Mules to a 71-65 victory over Fisher in men’s basketball action Sunday at Wadsworth Gymnasium.
Foreman made six of his nine three-point attempts and is now averaging 20.8 points per game this season.
Connor O’Neil added 11 points for Colby (3-2), and Alex Swanson chipped in eight points and eight rebounds. Ryan McCorkle had 17 points for Fisher (2-9).
Maine 76, Rhode Island 74 OT: Despite not hitting a field goal in overtime, the Black Bears edged the Rams in a non-conference game in Kingston, R.I.
Maine (3-2) went 0 for 5 from the field in overtime, scoring only on two free throws by Justin Edwards and two by Rasheem Singleton. Rhode Island’s (1-7) Mike Powell, who hit a 3-pointer to force overtime, missed a shot at the overtime buzzer.
Alasdair Fraser scored 23 points and Edwards scored 21 for Maine (3-2). Gerlad McLemore added 17 points.
Women’s ice hockey
Boston College 1, Maine 0: Blake Bolden scored in traffic with 1:28 left in the game as the fourth-ranked Eagles overcame a brilliant performance by Maine goalie Brittany Ott to defeat the Black Bears in Orono.
BC outshot Maine, 47-18, but Ott made 46 saves on the afternoon. Maine (9-7-4 overall, 4-5-1 America East) also lost a 4-3 overtime heart-breaker to the Eagles on Saturday.
Corinne Boyles had 18 saves to earn the shutout for BC (12-4-1, 7-2-1).
