FAIRFIELD — Lawrence took an early lead, then held off a Brunswick rally in the second half to take a 59-53 win in KVAC A play.

Down 13 points early in the second quarter, Brunswick (1-1) rallied, tying the game with 2:29 left in the third quarter on a pair of Garrett Erb foul shots.

Lawrence (2-0) answered Brunswick’s rally with a 12-0 run. The Dragons pulled to within four points late, but could get no closer.

Mitchell Black led Brunswick with 17 points. Spencer Carey scored 15 for Lawrence, while Keith Chesley added 13 points off the bench.
