Michelle Freeman, a Department of Health and Human Services caseworker, collects presents Wednesday for children in her care at the Sacred Heart Church rectory in Hallowell. State child caseworkers collected 450 gifts donated and wrapped by members of the Hallowell churches St. Matthew’s Episcopal, Old South Congregational and Sacred Heart Catholic and employees of the Maine Department of Transportation to distribute to children throughout Maine.
