AUBURN — Samantha Bruce scored 18 points and Madison outscored St. Dom’s by 11 points in the third quarter on its way to a 50-42 Mountain Valley Conference girls basketball victory on Thursday.

Melissa White added eight points for Madison (5-0), which trailed 21-20 at the half.

Mary Caron had 12 points and six assists for St. Dom’s (0-5).

Girls basketball

Rangeley 48, Islesboro 20: Taylor Esty had 16 points and eight rebounds as the Lakers cruised to a win in Islesboro.

Emily Carrier added 11 points for Rangeley (4-1).

Autumn Johnson had 10 points for Islesboro (3-5).

Boothbay 48, Mt. Abram 34: Megan Smith scored 16 points as the Seahawks beat the Roadrunners in an MVC game in Salem.

Zaza Andrews added 10 points for Boothbay (4-2).

Miranda Smith had 10 points and Mikayla Luce nine for Mt. Abram (2-3).

Boys basketball

Boothbay 70, Mt. Abram 43: Ben Dickinson scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Seahawks to the MVC win.

John Hepburn added 14 points for Boothbay (5-1).

Tyler Hupper led Mt. Abram (2-3) with 16 points while Robert Rivers chipped in with 10.
