Teacher-Ranger applications accepted
Acadia National Park’s Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program gives classroom teachers an opportunity to connect with different teaching resources in a park. The program focuses on teachers from schools with ethnically diverse or underserved student populations who have had limited experience with national parks. Participating teachers are provided with a ranger uniform, shared housing, if needed, and supplemental pay.
Albion presents Boston Post Cane to Getchell
ALBION — Albion’s Boston Post Gold Cane was recently presented to Norman A. Getchell, 96, Albion’s eldest citizen. A ceremony was held at the Nov. 28 Board of Selectmen meeting. Selectman Michael Getchell presented the cane to his father. Norman’s daughter and son-in-law Jean and Bruce McCarthy of Lubec and daughter-in-law Anita Getchell of Albion were also present.
