BANGOR — Police in Bangor are investigating the death of a child.

The child died on Dec. 30, 2011. An autopsy was done over the weekend, in accordance with state law involving investigations of the deaths of children under age 3. Authorities say toxicology results could take several weeks.

Police have not released the name and age of the child.
