HAMPDEN —Josie Lee scored 15 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead Cony to a 64-35 win over Hampden in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A girls basketball game Tuesday night.
Lee added six steals and six assists while Mia Diplock scored 13 points and recorded seven assists.
The Rams took a 17-5 lead in the first quarter and weren’t challenged after that. Emily Sanford added eight rebounds for Cony (7-0) while Jordan Maxwell paced Hampden (3-4) with 13 points.
Richmond 54, Old Orchard 33: Jamie Plummer had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead the visiting Bobcats to the win against the Class C Seagulls.
Danica Hurley and Ciarra Lancaster each scored eight points for Richmond (6-0).
Christina Coleman led Old Orchard (1-4) with 11 points.
Mt. Blue 47, Messalonskee 37: Gabby Foy and Jaycee Mullen combined for 30 points to lead the Cougars to the KVAC A win in Farmington.
Foy finished with 17 points while Mullen added 13 for Mt. Blue (4-3). The Cougars held a 19-4 lead after the first quarter.
Messalonskee (5-2) was led by Megan Pelletier with 12 points and Shelby Cutten with nine. Point guard Mary Badeen was away on a college visit and did not play.
Nokomis 59, Maranacook 29: Kylie Richards had 18 points as the Warriors rolled to their seventh straight win, in Newport.
Anna Mackenzie, Kelsie Richards and Lindsay Whitney each added eight points for Nokomis (7-0). Hannah Clough was the top scorer for Maranacook (3-4), with 15 points.
Brunswick 54, Erskine 38: Julia Champagne scored 12 points and Melanie Bryant added 11 to lead Brunswick to the Eastern A victory in South China. Liz Folkner added 10 points for the Dragons (4-4). Meryl Bond scored 12 points and Bridgette Humphrey added seven to pace the Eagles (1-6).
Rangeley 61, Buckfield 22: Emily Carrier led thre eplayers in double figures with 13 points as the host Lakers coasted to the East-West Conference win. Taylor Esty added 12 points and Chantelle Carrier 11 for Rangeley (6-1).
Boys basketball
Hall-Dale 66, Madison 50: Zac Plummer scored 17 points to lead Hall-Dale to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Madison.
Sam Shepherd added 13 points, 16 rebounds and five blocked shots for Hall-Dale (5-2) while Austin Bechard chipped in with 11 and Brad Shepherd scored 10.
Madison (2-4) was led by Steven Lawrence with a game-high 18 points.
Brunswick 60, Erskine 39: Garrett Erb scored 13 points to lead the host Dragons to the KVAC A win. Konnor Scarpone added 12 points for Brunswick (5-3) while Trent Anderson chipped in with 11.
Erskine (4-3) was led by Shyler Scates with eight points and Devin Duncan and Caleb McGuire with seven apiece.
Mt. Blue 63, Messalonskee 46: Nick Hilton scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Cougars to the KVAC A win in Oakland. Cam Sennick added 16 points for Mt. Blue (5-2) while Blake Hart scored 14.
Messalonskee (0-7) was led by Elijah Steele with 12 points.
Hampden 56, Cony 38: The Broncos held the Rams to 11 points in the second half en route to the KVAC Class A win in Augusta. Christian McCue led Hampden (7-0) with 14 points while Tyler Norris added 10.
Walker Cooper paced Cony (2-5) with 14 points and Zac Lachance scored 12.
St. Dominic 39, Monmouth 20: Tom Applegate scored 10 points as the Saints won the MVC game in Auburn.
Joe Bryant added eight points for St. Dom’s (3-4).
Brandon Goff and Billy Cummings each had five for Monmouth (2-4).
Nokomis 59, Maranacook 51: Ethan Pearl and Devin Chambers each scored 17 points, and the Warriors held off Maranacook to take the KVAC B win in Readfield.
Spencer Hartsgrove added nine points for Nokomis (6-1). Kyle Boucher had a triple-double for Maranacook (3-4) with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 12 blocks.
Oceanside 100, Oak Hill 40: The Raiders played the Mariners tough for a quarter before falling in the KVAC Class B game in Wales. Parker Asselin led Oak Hill (0-8) with 19 points. Oceanside is 7-1.
Boys hockey
Messalonskee 5, Skowhegan 0: Sam Dexter had two goals and two assists to lead the visiting Eagles to the Class A win.
James Varney also scored twice while Chase Cunningham had the other goal for Messalonskee (4-1-0). Travis St. Pierre, Dominic Dexter, Tyler Simpson, JT Towle and Cunningham each had an assist. Nate DelGiudice made 19 saves.
Sam Edmondson stopped 18 shots for Skowhegan (3-2-1).
