TOPSHAM — Messalonskee made 10 3-point baskets and beat Mt. Ararat 68-55 to earn its first win of the season in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Thursday.
Gage Landry had 13 points, including three 3-pointers and Riley Wentworth had 12 points, including four 3-pointers for Messalonskee (1-7). Elijah Steele added 11 points and Luke Vigue had 10.
Josh Wright had 15 points for Mt. Ararat (0-8).
Rangeley 58, Pine Tree 28: Eric White had 13 points and 19 rebounds as the Lakers cruised to the Class D win in Rangeley.
Kyle Haley scored 15 points and grabbed 11 boards for Rangeley (4-3), which led 26-11 at the half. Alex Morton had 16 points for the Lakers, while Luke Elliot had five assists.
Zach Wilday led Pine Tree (1-5) with 18 points.
Girls basketball
Rangeley 54, Pine Tree 13: Blayke Morin had eight points and 13 rebounds to pace the host Lakers to the Class D win. Chantal Carrier scored a game-high 13 points for Rangeley (6-1) while Seve Deery-DeRaps added nine points.
Pine Tree (1-6) was led by Beckie McGurie and Rebecca Moore-Myshrall with four points apiece.
Madison 49, Monmouth 30: Sam Bruce scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Bulldogs took the MVC win in Madison.
Melissa White had 10 points for Madison (7-0), while Lyndsay Weese had nine rebounds.
Kristine Kahl led Monmouth (3-5) with eight points.
Mt. Ararat 47, Messalonskee 32: Mallory Nelson had 11 points as Mt. Ararat beat Messalonskee in a KVAC A game in Oakland.
Caitlin LaFountain and Molly Estes both added 10 points for Mt. Ararat (6-2).
Megan Pelletier had 11 points and Mary Badeen 10 for Messalonskee (5-3).
St. Dom’s 30, Carrabec 24: Callie Greco had 10 points as the Saints beat the Cobras in an MVC game in Auburn.
Jocelyn Jackson had eight points for Carrabec (2-5).
