 AUGUSTA — Whitten Road, which runs between Augusta and Hallowell, is closed to traffic following a motor vehicle crash which took out a utility pole.

 Few details were available. Augusta police and firefighters responded to the scene, where at least one person was reported injured. At 3:40 p.m., Central Maine Power Co. crews were attempting to repair the utility pole and restore power to nearby businesses, including those at the Turnpike Mall.

It appeared the outage affected customers in Hallowell, Manchester and Augusta.

The crash occurred some time after 3 p.m today.
