NORRIDGEWOCK — Police late Tuesday said a man died after he had declined medical attention following a motor vehicle accident earlier in the day.

Sgt. Michael Knight of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department said the accident happened on Main Street. The county regional communications log shows an accident at that location at 2:44 a.m.

“He refused treatment and went home,” Knight said Tuesday night. “Later this morning he passed away.”

The victim’s name and where he was from were not available Tuesday night.

Knight said an autopsy will be performed.
