AUGUSTA — Three people were sentenced in separate hearings Tuesday in Kennebec County Superior Court:

* Daniel Marsilio, 31, of Augusta, assault Oct. 23, 2010, in Gardiner; $500 fine, $1,000 restitution.

* Andrew B. McCormick, 29, of Sidney; unlawful possession of scheduled drug March 2 in Waterville; $400 fine.

* William T. Stanley, 41, of Augusta, assault Dec. 3, 2011, in Augusta; 96-hour jail sentence, $300 fine.

Augusta man jailed after no-contest plea

AUGUSTA — Paul Wallace, 56, of Augusta, pleaded no contest to a charge of violating a condition of release, March 21, just before he was to go to trial in Kennebec County Superior Court.

Wallace was convicted of the offense and sentenced to 24 hours in jail. He received credit for the 24 hours he had been held on the charge.

A charge of violating a protective order, which allegedly occurred in Augusta the same day, Sept. 29, was dismissed in exchange for the plea.

Maine State CU gets national honor

AUGUSTA — Maine State Credit Union was recently honored with a Diamond Award, which recognizes outstanding marketing and business development achievements in the credit union industry.

The award was presented by the Credit Union National Association’s Marketing and Business Development Council, a national network of professionals. Awards are given in each of 33 categories ranging from advertising to community events and more.

Maine State Credit Union won the email marketing category for its entry, “MSCU auto loan email offer.” The email was part of an integrated campaign to encourage members to act on a low auto rate.

Award winners were recognized at the council’s 19th annual conference held March 7-10 in New Orleans.
