Hallowell ready to celebrate

HALLOWELL — People of European descent first settled this stretch of the Kennebec River in 1762. According to city historian Sam Webber, Deacon Pease Clark, considered Hallowell’s founder, arrived here on May 2 that year with his adult son Peter and Peter’s family.

30 years; so many stories

This year marks my 30th year at writing stories for a newspaper, 25 of them for this company. It had a different name when I started. I can’t remember what it was, and it’s changed hands a number of times since.
