Local towns receive Move More Kids grants

SKOWHEGAN — Somerset Heart Health’s Move More Kids program recently awarded mini-grants to local towns. The purpose of the grants is to provide opportunities for children and adults to get more exercise and lead healthier lifestyles. Solon, Bingham, Mercer, Madison and Starks received the grants. The New Balance Foundation funds the program.

KFS scholarship deadline is May 4

WATERVILLE — KFS will offer four $500 scholarships for students pursuing a two- or four-year degree program at a Maine college. Candidates for the scholarship must receive a high school diploma in 2012 and be entering college in the fall.
