WATERVILLE — Cindy Longstaff wasn’t about to let a burglar escape from her Pleasant Street home without a fight.

GARDINER — The Bank of Maine on Thursday ceremoniously opened its new operations center in the Libby Hill Business Park, highlighting what city officials call a unique economic plan for developing the struggling property.

Delaney Ellis and Skylan Bella, both 7 of Turner, fill their little containers with potting soil to plant corn seeds as part of Earth Day events on Thursday morning at the Children’s Discovery Museum in Augusta. The museum has been busy this week since most school children are on vacation this week, according to executive director Carrie Arsenault.
There will be Earth Day activities where children can plant seed pots and learn about recycling on Sunday too.
