WATERVILLE — A Fairfield man was arrested Wednesday on cocaine charges after police found 2.5 grams of cocaine in his possession, according to police.

Sungsuwan Tarnapon, 18, of 141 Green Road, Fairfield, was charged with unlawful possession of the drug, a Class D misdemeanor, after an officer stopped a vehicle he was in on Cool Street at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Deputy police Chief Charles Rumsey said Thursday.

The cocaine is estimated to be worth $100 per gram, Rumsey said. Sungsuwan was released on $1,000 unsecured bail, he said.

Four charged with underage drinking

FAIRFIELD — Four people were charged with underage drinking violations Wednesday evening after police were notified that a juvenile holding a bottle of vodka was jumping on vehicles on Cardinal Circle.

When police arrived around 8 p.m., police Chief John Emery said they smelled alcohol on the breath of two minors who were outside.

As police sought to locate the registered tenant of the residence, Emery said two more people younger than 21 came outside and police also smelled alcohol on their breath.

Kevyn Knights, 18, of 3 Quaker Hill Road, Apt. 1, Albion, was summoned on a charge of being a minor consuming liquor and a 17-year-old and two 16-year-olds were summoned on the same charge.

Emery said the registered tenant was located and that she cooperated with police.

The chief said she was not home when the drinking allegedly occurred and that she did not knowingly provide a place for minors to consume alcohol.

IN FAIRFIELD, Wednesday at 8:06 p.m., Kevyn Knights, 18, of 3 Quaker Hill Road, Apt. 1, Albion, was summoned on a charge of being a minor consuming liquor.

Also at 8:06 p.m., a 17-year-old and two 16-year-olds were each issued a summons for being a minor consuming liquor.

IN WINSLOW, Wednesday at 11:10 p.m., Archie Roy Engstrom III, 19, of 23 Clinton Ave., Apt. 307, was summoned on a charge of a minor consuming liquor, on Clinton Avenue.

Thursday, 4:39 a.m., Jesse James Choate, 33, of 204 Bassett Rd., was summoned on a charge of operating with a suspended or revoked license.
