AUGUSTA — Sonja Morse took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and Nicole Rugan belted a two-run home run to lead the Cony softball team past Oxford Hills 9-2 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Wednesday.

Morse struck out 15.

Cony (12-0) banged out 12 hits, including six for extra bases.

“It gives us a chance to get homefield in the playoffs,” Cony coach Rocky Gaslin said. “It’s what we’re shooting for.”

Rugan, who went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, tied a single-season Cony record with her fifth home run. Molly Russell and Maggie Russell each went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Rams as well.

Crystal West struck out four to lead Oxford Hills (8-3).
