NORTHPORT — Elizabeth Jane Hanna and Robert Steven Hite were married on Aug. 18, 2011 at the Summit at Point Lookout Resort in Northport.
The bride is the daughter of Glenn and Susan Hanna of Augusta and the groom is the son of Maureen Gildein of Mocksville, N.C. and Keith Hite of Charlotte, N.C.
Kristy Hite, sister of the groom, stood by her brother’s side as the best woman and Gregory Hanna, brother of the bride, was the man of honor. A reception followed the ceremony at The Pavilion at Erikson Hall at Point Lookout.
The couple met in Denver, Colo. while serving in AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC). In celebration of their mutual love of community service, 50 of the bride’s and groom’s close family and friends joined them in an environmental clean-up project at the 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Tanglewood in Lincolnville, the day before the wedding.
Elizabeth, formerly of Augusta, graduated from Cony High School in 2000 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. in 2004. She is a State Program Specialist for the Corporation for National and Community Service in Concord, N.H.
Robert, formally of Winston-Salem, N.C. graduated from Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School in 1998 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. in 2002. He is employed by the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery.
Mr. and Mrs. Hite reside in Penacook, N.H.
