SKOWHEGAN — The Skowhegan Parks and Recreation Department will serve free nutritious meals from June 18 through Aug. 24. at the Skowhegan Community Center, 39 Poulin Drive. There are no registration, no questions and no restrictions, just show up. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

COLCHESTER, Vt. — The following local high school students were awarded the 2012 Saint Michael’s College Book Award for academic achievement with a social conscience:

WATERVILLE — KFS recently awarded scholarships to high school seniors who will attend college in the fall. Each student will receive $500.

WATERVILLE — Organizers of the Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area Garden Party seek volunteers to bake or donate cookies, pies, cakes and muffins. Volunteers can help to individually wrap the items as well.

SKOWHEGAN — Skowhegan History House Museum and Research Center will sponsor a guided walking tour of Coburn Park with area naturalist Warren Balgooyen at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 24.

CHINA — A group of concerned citizens will discuss the possibility of withdrawing from Regional School Unit 18. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the China Baptist Church on the causeway at the head of the lake.
