WATERVILLE — Three pitchers combined on a six-hit shutout as Post 51 defeated Madison, 6-0 in American Legion Baseball Zone 2 action Tuesday evening at Thomas College.
Blair Blaisdell threw the first five innings for Post 51 (7-1), and Isiah Fleming and Jake Dexter each tossed an inning of scoreless relief. Sam Dexter was the offensive star, with two doubles and a triple. Fleming added three singles and drove in three runs.
Trevor Hisler singled twice for Madison (6-2).
Post 51 was coming off a 4-1 victory over Franklin County on Monday night, in which Devin Warren and Jake Dexter combined on a two-hitter.
South China Subway 10, Amato’s of Rockland 0, 6 innings: Tom Grady pitched a one-hitter as the hosts blanked Amato’s at Colby College.
Grady walked four, struck out four, and didn’t allow a hit after the second inning. He also had two singles and a double.
Ryan Pulver led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run to give Subway (3-2) the lead for good. Nine different players had hits for Subway.
Amato’s dropped to 4-4.
