PORTLAND — A civilian laborer set a fire that caused $400 million in damage to a nuclear-powered submarine because he had anxiety and wanted to get out of work early, Navy investigators said Monday.

Canoe, kayak trip set for Aug. 18

VASSALBORO — Vassalboro Conservation commission will host a canoe or kayak trip from Vassalboro to Augusta. The trip will start at the new carry-in trail parking lot at the end of Seven Mile Stream/mill pond at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18.
