Recently our governor stated that Maine people were looked down upon if we went to other parts of the country.

Actually, I have found we are quite well-respected all over the country. Envied is the right word. A great many people would love to come to Maine if they could get a job.

I believe the governor was a bit confused that day. If anyone is looked down upon, it is the governor himself.
