Regional School Unit 18 teachers offer to slash pay to reach flat budget
OAKLAND — The teachers of Regional School Unit 18 have volunteered to cut their own pay to help achieve a flat budget, Superintendent Gary Smith told the school board Wednesday night.

The $31.9 million school budget approved by the Regional School Unit 18 board Wednesday night includes the following cuts. The budget goes to a district budget meeting Sept. 20 and a district-wide referendum Oct 2. RSU 18 incudes Belgrade, China, Oakland, Sidney and Rome.
