WALES – The streak is history.

Oak Hill opened up its season with a convincing 33-7 over two-time defending Class C state champ Yarmouth on a sun-splashed Saturday.

The victory snapped Yarmouth’s 24-game winning streak.

Joel Wells returned the opening kickoff 79 yards for a touchdown and sophomore tailback Alex Mace rushed for a team-high 81 yards and a score to lead the Raiders (1-0), who controlled this game from the get-go.

“I think a lot of people will be surprised to hear what happened (Saturday) said Oak Hill junior tight end Luke Washburn, who caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Parker Asselin. “It’s a big deal. I think a lot of people are going to look at us differently.”

Parker Asselin also rushed for a 1-yard touchdown for the Raiders, who led 21-7 at the half and never looked back.
