WATERVILLE — The department of religious studies at Colby College will host Professor Wendy Doniger at 7 tonight at Colby’s Ostrove Auditorium, Diamond Building. Doniger is a scholar of comparative religion and Hinduism.

Doniger brings into her works Greek myths, the Hebrew Bible, medieval romance, Shakespeare and Hollywood. She holds doctorates from Harvard and Oxford.

Doniger has written more than 20 books including “Asceticism and Eroticism in the Mythology of Siva,” “The Bedtrick: Tales of Sex and Masquerade” and “The Woman Who Pretended to Be Who She Was.”
