WATERBORO — Waterboro election officials will spend Wednesday afternoon hand counting ballots because of a broken voting machine.

Town Clerk Yvette Murray said the machine, which she described as old, stopped working Tuesday, forcing officials to hand count 112 ballots. The tally will resume at 2 p.m. and she expects results to be available by late afternoon.

Results will be posted on the town website.
