Legislature faces four veto override votes

AUGUSTA — Legislative Democrats said Wednesday they will try to persuade their Republican colleagues to stick by their earlier votes and pass a $20 million borrowing proposal for research and development projects as lawmakers consider whether to override vetoes of that measure and three other bills by Gov. Wilton hopes EPA grant will help restart tax flow

WILTON — A $200,000 federal Environmental Protection Agency grant will pay for most of the cost to clean up a contaminated former tannery building, giving town officials hope they will be able to soon start collecting taxes again on the abandoned industrial site.

Wayne’s Ride, Barbecue planned

NEW VINEYARD — The second annual Wayne’s Ride and Barbecue to honor Wayne A. Fletcher will be held Monday, June 9. Fletcher was killed in a motorcycle accident near the Big Apple store in Wilton in June 2010.
