22 states join campaign finance fight

The states are trying to prevent the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United decision — which allows corporations to spend unlimited money on political campaigns — from being used to strike down state laws restricting corporate campaign spending.

Walkers helping those with AIDS

Participants in the AIDS Walk of Central Maine start north from Hallowell on Saturday morning. About 100 people took part in the fundraiser for MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Horizon Program. They walked a five kilometer route  from Hallowell to downtown Augusta on Kennebec River Rail Trail and 10 kilometer runners did that twice.
