3-vehicle accident in Winthrop injures one driver
WINTHROP — Slippery driving conditions Saturday morning caused four accidents, including a three-vehicle crash that resulted in one of the drivers being taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta for treatment of injuries.
A 22-year-old Scarborough woman’s vehicle collided head-on with a car in the opposite lane on U.S. Route 202 after her veheicle rear-ended the vehicle in front of her.
Winthrop police Capt. Ryan Frost said snow on the road prevented the woman from being able to stop for a vehicle that was slowing down for turning traffic.
The driver in the rear-ended car complained of minor pain but didn’t need treatment, Frost said.
