NASHUA, N.H. Rober Auer scored six goals as Rivier beat Thomas College 14-4 in a men’s lacrosse game Wednesday.
Brandon Hanifan and David Bray each added three goals for Rivier (4-1).
Parker Chute, Bryan Ferris, Jordan Marino and Gunner Shelton each had a goal for Thomas (0-1). Shelton had two assists and Jesse Morkeski stopped 17 shots.
Softball
Valparaiso 3, Maine 0: Angie Doerffler had an RBI double and the Crusaders cruised to the non-conference victory in Fort Myers, Fla.
Makaila Kowalsky and Jessica Burk each had hits for Maine while Alexis Bogdanovich pitched a complete game. She allowed seven hits and struck out one.
Florida Gulf Coast 3, Maine 2: Hannah Hill went 1 for 2 with an RBI and also pitched six effective innings, but it wasn’t enough for the Black Bears in Fort Myers, Fla.
Maine (1-22) had the potential game-tying and winning runs on base with nobody out in the seventh inning but couldn’t get them home.
Hill struck out five and allowed all three runs.
Jessica Barnes had a double and two RBIs for the Eagles (16-9).
