SOLON — Barbara Maden, town clerk and tax collector since 2001, has retired. She was also town treasurer and deputy clerk for many years.

Maden was re-elected as clerk/town collector at the recent Annual Town meeting, and declined.

Selectmen appointed Leslie Giroux to serve as clerk and tax collector until 2014.

The town will hire a new deputy clerk, tax collector and deputy treasurer. Anyone interested in the position should contact the selectmen by April 3.
