Although I am not a fan of some of Gov. Paul LePage policies, I feel he is right about paying hospitals what is owed.
How does one expect these hospitals to keep providing services without being paid?
We already have seen hospitals terminate people, close hospital wings and reduce hours because they can’t afford to keep going without income.
If we were to reverse this situation, and the hospitals instead owed the state millions of dollars, how long do you think the state would wait for its money?
As a small business owner, I would never sell to the state of Maine based on its reputation for nonpayment. The state should pay what it owes.
