Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, should be heralded as a hero.

The senator is taking the right stand for our civil liberties guaranteed under the Constitution by demanding answers about domestic drone use.

Many people are unaware that the federal government is equipping drones to use against us on U.S. soil without a warrant, the right to trial or even an indictment. I applaud Paul for having the courage to stand up to the establishment and protect our liberty.

I urge Sen. Angus King, our governor and all elected officials in Maine to join Paul in demanding answers about domestic drone use and implementing further protections against domestic drone use.
