AUGUSTA — Daniel Garand, a seventh grade student at St. Michael School, has qualified for the state level of the National Geographic Bee.

He is the son of Richard and Sally Garand of Manchester. The State Bee will be held on Friday, April 5, at the University of Maine in Farmington.
