AUGUSTA — The sixth annual Central Maine Strongman competition Saturday at the Augusta armory featured five events, including a descending deadlift, an over-the-head press medley, yoke walk, Conan’s wheel and the series stones.

The competition drew 28 male and 16 female competitors — the most in its history, according to organizer Dana Geneseo — who competed in five weight classes, and raised money for the Augusta Little League. Last year, the event raised more than $1,700.
