Closing Pre-release Center a short-sighted solution
I am concerned about the relative silence around the proposed closing of the Hallowell Pre-release Center. This facility has provided unquestionable service to the community through the years, and its closing would be a tremendous blow to the area.

Gun carriers operate under the influence
I think the names of concealed weapons carriers should be posted in every town office and city hall in the state of Maine. That information should be available to citizens so we can know whom to avoid.

Citizens’ guns outnumber all in government, 8-1
It seems that every day there are more senseless shootings. More shootings are mentioned on the news than there are drug and cellphone commercials. There are also almost as many stories about solutions to stop the gun violence.
