BLUE HILL — Luke Bartol of Manchester received the first place award in Category I: Age 7-13 for his composition, “Sunny River,” in the Bagaduce Music Lending Library 17th Annual Young Composers Competition and Festival.

Twenty-four young musicians from across the state submitted their new works for review by a jury of professional musicians.

The competition concluded with a festival, during which all participating composers performed their original work and were recognized for their accomplishment and met with the judges.
