WATERVILLE — Dick Dyer of Winthrop has joined the staff of the Waterville Opera House as director of marketing and development.

Dyer, who has degrees in speech, theater and art from the University of Southern Maine, has worked as a public relations and marketing consultant for numerous arts organizations for more than 32 years, including the Maine Arts Commission, the New England Foundation for the Arts, Maryland Institute College of Art and the Maine Crafts Association.

Longtime staff member Barbara Allen will serve as director for donor relations.
