AMHERST, Mass. — Katherine Ward, formerly of Winslow, received a master of public health degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst during its annual commencement ceremony recently.

Ward is a graduate of Winslow High School, class of 2007, and a graduate of Springfield College, class of 2011, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in applied exercise science. Ward specialized in community health education during her time at UMass and hopes to work in a health promotion and disease prevention setting in the future.
