St. Michael School teacher John “Pete” Hickey gives seventh-graders some pointers on the driving range on Friday at Western View Golf Club in Augusta.  Hickey will be retiring this year after the teaching for 37 years at the parochial school, on the corner of Western Avenue and Sewall Street in Augusta. For the last 19 years, he’s organized an end-of-the-year golf outing for the seventh graders. Hickey said he will be teaching social studies for a day a week next year.
