U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud, a 2014 Democratic candidate for governor, will make a joint appearance Wednesday with his primary opponent, businessman Steve Woods.

Michaud’s campaign spokesman David Farmer sent a media advisory Tuesday about the event, which will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tidesmart Global in Falmouth, the marketing firm owned by Woods.

Farmer said he could not reveal what the press conference would be about. Woods did not immediately return a call for comment.

Woods, who chairs the Yarmouth Town Council, announced his intent to run for governor back in February, long before Michaud.

However, Michaud has strong name recognition and an ability to raise money – he’s a six-term U.S. representative – and most political observers considered Woods a dark horse even before Michaud entered the race.
